Climate Bill Moves to the Senate

Now that hearings are underway for the Senate’s version of the Waxman-Markey bill, I’d like to suggest that you support it by writing to your local senator. The editors at Grist have tried to guess how senators will vote. According to Grist, there are about 45 senators whose vote is up for grabs or it’s not clear how they will vote. Grist wants readers to find out how the senators will vote. Personally, I think this is a waste of time. I think it would be more effective to write directly to your senator to urge the passage of a bill that puts a cap on carbon emissions, provides money for green collar jobs, and advances the use of renewable energy.
